Carol Struve holds a BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from University of Massachusetts Amherst in painting.

Her experience as a painter spans 21 years that includes 14 years of college teaching and working 3 years as director of Herter Art Gallery at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Highlights include 15 one-person exhibitions, several grant awards, serving twice as a Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowship panelist, a residency at the Vermont Studio Center, curating numerous exhibitions and teaching painting and drawing for the University of Massachusetts Summer European Program. Works have been included in regional and national exhibitions including solo exhibitions at A.I.R. Gallery in New York City and the Plains Art Museum, Fargo, ND. Group exhibitions include R&F Handmade Paint, Kingston, New York, North Dakota Museum of Art, Minnesota State Arts Board Gallery and Blanden Memorial Art Museum, Fort Dodge, IA.
