An examination of current social problems
confronting the individual, the nation, and the world.
Issues of cultural and individual diversity provide the
basis for introducing theories and concepts of the
behavioral sciences. The course utilizes an
interdisciplinary systems approach in discussing the causes
and possible resolutions of these issues.

An introductory study of education as a major social
institution with special attention being given to the
philosophies, patterns, cultural diversity, and issues which
have characterized the American system. A consideration of
higher education is included.
