Success Strategies Grade
Information/ Halsey
Keep in mind that I created the
Success Strategies Grade Options so that you would grow as a learner…and become
more aware of your learning journey.
Accumulating Success
Strategy Points allow you to choose one of the following options at the end of
the semester:
·
Dropping one
or two Graded Homework assignments (other than a final project for the course) whose
total points possible add to no more than your total accumulated Success
Strategies Points, or
·
Adding an
Extra Credit grade of ¼ of your total accumulated Success Strategies Point, or
·
Adding a
strong additional grade to your points for the semester,
You have enormous
flexibility in accumulating your Success Strategies points, but there are
certain requirements that you must adhere to.
Requirements:
·
All of your
submissions must be submitted to me in writing along with your Success
Strategies Grade Sheet. I will keep track of all of your components for your
Success Strategies Grade on a separate sheet which I will hand out during the
first week of class. It is your
responsibility to hand me the sheet any time you have submitted material for
your Success Strategies Grade.
·
Carefully follow all instructions given for a
particular component. Work must be
well done, show evidence of clear thought, and be well presented. No
credit will be given for material that does not meet the criteria laid out for
that option.
·
Don't wait too
long to begin this component. You
can receive a maximum of 100 points for the semester.
·
Spread your
work over the semester. Please
do not wait until the last few weeks before midterm, or before the end of the
semester. It is unlikely that you will be able to accumulate all the
points, and you will benefit little from the intent of this component of your
grade.
o Remember, you may not receive points from more than 2
submissions in any one week.
·
Follow the
specific time frames listed for a component. I will not look at material retroactively - for
example, I will not look at practice exercises for Unit 1 after the Unit 1
test. (Options on back)
